The K/Dimbani school is located on the south western tip of Zanzibar which is off the East Coast of Africa and part of Tanzania.
The Friends of the K/Dimbani school is a voluntary agency based in West Somerset whose objects are to support the development of the school.
K/Dimbani has a primary and first secondary school which opened on 9th February 1998 starting with 168 pupils. The School now has 500 pupils aged from 4-16 with 20 teachers & 12 classes.
Subjects taught include Religion, History,Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Maths,Physics, Kiswahili, Arabic, English and
Social Studies. This has been achieved through sheer hard work..The National Government funds the cost of the teachers but is unable to cover the cost of buildings, furniture, equipment and basics
such as books, pencils etc.
